Aahana Punjabi and Anmol Jumani claimed the Beginner Mixed Doubles title at the Mumbai DUPR Cup after registering a 21–12 win against Romi Desai and Rohan Dutia in the final. The duo set the tone early, combining effectively and taking advantage of chances at the net to establish control. Sharp movement and clear communication allowed them to maintain the upper hand during the middle stages of the match.
Romi and Rohan showed resilience and remained competitive at various points, but struggled to apply sustained pressure as Aahana and Anmol consistently converted crucial rallies.
With a comfortable lead in place, Aahana and Anmol wrapped up the match efficiently, limiting unforced errors to secure the title and top the beginner mixed doubles category at the Mumbai DUPR Cup.
The Mumbai DUPR Cup is a PWR 50 event sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association. The one-day tournament drew 130 entries across nine beginner and intermediate categories, offering a total prize pool of Rs 32,200.
The intermediate men’s singles (below 4.3 DUPR ratings) category featured 11 players competing for Rs 2,500, while the intermediate 35+ men’s singles (below 4.3) event included six players and carried prize money of Rs 2,000.
In the doubles divisions, 11 pairings contested the intermediate men’s doubles (below 4.3) category for Rs 4,000, while five teams took part in the intermediate 35+ men’s doubles (below 4.3), which offered Rs 3,000.
The intermediate mixed doubles (below 4.3) category attracted six pairings with Rs 3,000 at stake, and the intermediate 35+ split doubles (gender neutral) (below 4.3) event featured seven pairings competing for Rs 3,200.
