Apple has updated Apple Maps with a new Formula 1 experience “2026 Formula 1 Tracks Around the World” that gives fans detailed 3D views of race circuits worldwide and helpful navigation tools, just weeks before the 2026 season begins

New 3D F1 Tracks in Apple Maps

Apple has enhanced Apple Maps by adding a dedicated guide called “2026 Formula 1 Tracks Around the World”. This new feature lets users explore detailed representations of F1 circuits, starting with Albert Park — the venue of the Australian Grand Prix — and will expand to more tracks as the season progresses.

What the Guide Shows

The updated guide includes 3D layouts of circuits with:

  • All turns labeled and realistic kerb details
  • Grandstands, footbridges, and landmarks rendered in three dimensions
  • Navigation hints for walking directions, useful for fans headed to the circuit in person
  • Temporary markers like entry gates, restrooms, water stations, and merchandise stands
  • These interactive elements give both fans on the ground and remote followers a richer look at race venues.

Timed for F1 Season Kick-Off

The launch comes just weeks before the 2026 Formula 1 season, which starts with the Australian Grand Prix on March 8, and ties into Apple’s broader role in streaming and promoting the sport. Apple TV holds exclusive U.S. streaming rights for the season, and the company has been integrating F1 content across its services, including Apple News, Apple Music, and Apple Sports.

Expanding to More Circuits

While Albert Park is the first track with full 3D enhancements, Apple is gradually rolling out similar upgrades to other circuits on the F1 calendar, such as Miami, Montreal, Monaco, Silverstone, Barcelona, and the Red Bull Ring. As the season goes on, more tracks are expected to get updated within Apple Maps.

A Broader F1 Strategy

This feature is part of Apple’s larger push to amplify Formula 1 on its platforms. Beyond streaming races on Apple TV, Apple’s integration of F1 content across Maps and other apps aims to make the sport more immersive and accessible to fans year-round.
