Liverpool manager Arne Slot remains supported by FSG after a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Burnley, extending the Reds’ winless streak to four matches amid mounting pressure.

Arne Slot still has the backing of Liverpool owners FSG, despite the team’s recent dip in form. The Reds were held 1-1 by relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday, leaving them 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal and prompting criticism from supporters.

Florian Wirtz had put Liverpool ahead, his fourth goal in six games, but Marcus Edwards equalised in the second half, securing a vital point for Burnley. Slot acknowledged the fans’ frustration: “I completely understand the frustration. I have the same and the players definitely have the same frustration as the fans have. If we are not disappointed anymore by having a draw at home against Burnley then something is completely wrong.”

According to The Athletic, FSG have no plans to replace Slot midseason, contrasting with moves by Manchester United and Chelsea. That said, a potential replacement is available: Xabi Alonso, recently sacked by Real Madrid, has long been linked with the Anfield role.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard voiced his disapproval of the draw, stating it “won’t be acceptable” and highlighting home setbacks against teams like Leeds and Burnley. He added: “He has moved the team from the middle of the table and up back into the Champions League positions. I think that will be a priority for him and the team, minimum top four this season.”

Looking ahead, Liverpool travel to Marseille in midweek for a crucial Champions League clash, followed by a Premier League test against Bournemouth, aiming to return to winning ways and maintain their top-four aspirations.
