Coach Tat Meng makes first video appearance, shares health update

The 56-second video was shared by his badminton club, Roketto Badminton, on Thursday (Oct 9), showing that Tat Meng is now able to speak, although he remains bedridden in the hospital.

He said he is receiving good medical care and is being well looked after by friends who are by his side.

"Just to inform you guys, I'm recovering quite well at the moment. I've been well taken care of here by the medical team and my friends.

"So, I don't expect to come back so soon, maybe another month or so. And if you would like to have a chat with me, you can contact me via Facebook Messenger," said Tat Meng.

He also took the opportunity to offer words of encouragement to players competing at the Roketto Sydney International in Lidcombe, which is taking place this week.

"Okay, and I know Roketto IS (International Series) is going on this week, and also Bendigo International next week, if I recall. So good luck, guys, and have a good game," he added.

Tat Meng, who previously coached Lee Zii Jia, was involved in a motorcycle accident last month on Putty Road in the Garland Valley area of Australia.
