Malaysian badminton player Go Pei Kee has confirmed that she will not be returning to the national badminton team, bringing an end to a chapter of her career with the national set-up.
In a statement shared with fans, Pei Kee thanked everyone who has supported her throughout her journey. She acknowledged the encouragement she received over the years and expressed appreciation for the loyal backing from followers across Malaysia.
The decision means Pei Kee will pursue her career as an independent shuttler. By stepping away from the national team structure, she joins other players who have chosen to compete outside the national system while still representing Malaysia internationally.
Pei Kee has enjoyed success at both national and international levels, particularly in mixed doubles where she has been a consistent performer. Her move to independence reflects a growing trend among Malaysian players seeking more autonomy over tournament schedules and coaching choices.
While she will no longer be part of the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s central programme, her experience and competitive spirit remain assets as she continues to compete on the world stage. Pei Kee’s announcement closes one chapter with gratitude and opens another with fresh challenges ahead.
