Cadillac Formula 1 team principal Graeme Lowdon has outlined what a successful first race would look like for the American team, which joins the grid as the 11th entrant.
With new regulations shaking up the championship, no team can accurately predict where they’ll finish in Melbourne. “It's difficult. Success in terms of the Melbourne race, nobody knows that, nobody knows where anybody's going to finish,”
Lowdon told Autosport Business Exchange London. “If you ask any team principal where they think they'll be competitively, and they give you a relative answer, they're just making it up.”
Lowdon added that the team’s mission goes beyond competition. “We want to compete with them, but also contribute,” he said, praising Apple’s initiatives in motorsport. “A key thing for us is we don’t want fans to follow what we’re doing. We want them to join us.”
Cadillac will reveal its 2026 F1 livery in a Super Bowl TV commercial on 8 February, ahead of pre-season testing next week. The Australian Grand Prix runs from 6–8 March.
