Ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season, Jack Miller has dropped extra weight through new training and diet work, a change he believes boosts his physical readiness and even makes him recall his Moto3 days.

Jack Miller has trimmed down ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season, shedding around two kilograms to begin the year lighter than before. The Australian, known as one of the smaller riders in the premier class, says the physical change makes him feel reminiscent of his early career in Moto3, a class where lightweight and agility are critical.

The extra weight loss came after Miller switched coaches late last year and adjusted his training methods. He describes a more controlled and strategic conditioning routine paired with improved nutrition over the winter months. He says the results have left him feeling physically stronger and more prepared than ever entering the new season.

Miller, now around 64kg, is reportedly similar in weight to riders like Marc Márquez despite being taller. In MotoGP there is no combined minimum weight rule for rider and bike, only a minimum weight for the machine itself. This gives riders flexibility to optimise their physique, and Miller believes that being lighter can offer performance benefits like improved acceleration, braking, and reduced aerodynamic drag.

Despite Yamaha’s challenges with the new V4 engine package during pre-season testing, Miller remains focused and upbeat. He wants to give Yamaha the best possible feedback in races and help refine the bike’s performance throughout the season.

In addition to his own physical focus, Miller is also playing a supportive role for his new Pramac Yamaha teammate, Toprak Razgatlioglu. He has defended the World Superbike champion’s adaptation process, saying it takes time for any rider to find confidence and pace in his first full MotoGP season.

Miller’s first competitive outing of 2026 comes at the Thai Grand Prix at Buriram, where the season gets under way.
