Joan Mir set the pace on the second day of MotoGP preseason testing in Sepang, clocking a standout 1’56.874 lap that topped the timesheets and marked a strong show of pace for Honda as wet weather limited afternoon running.

Joan Mir delivered the fastest time on the second day of MotoGP preseason testing at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, highlighting Honda’s early speed ahead of the 2026 championship. Mir posted a best lap of 1 minute 56.874 seconds in the morning session, the quickest time of the day and the first sub-1’57 lap in testing so far.

Mir’s effort was not only the fastest overall but also a personal benchmark, coming more than half a second quicker than his own 2025 qualifying pace at Sepang. He topped the timesheets ahead of a competitive group of riders as conditions in the afternoon deteriorated due to rain and limited further improvements.

Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio followed Mir in second and third on the timesheet, but neither could better his benchmark. With running cut short by wet weather, Mir’s early lap stood as the best of the day.

The strong performance from Mir underlines Honda’s continued progress through the offseason, providing an encouraging sign for the team as the season build-up continues.
