World No. 25 Leong Jun Hao endured a disappointing outing, falling in straight games 21-17, 21-15 to Finland’s Joakim Oldorff, ranked 60th in the world, in a 43-minute contest. Having been rested in the opening match against England, Jun Hao appeared off rhythm throughout, committing a series of unforced errors that allowed his opponent to take control of the match.

Malaysia quickly responded through Justin Hoh, who restored parity with a convincing 21-14, 21-12 win over Finland’s Kalle Koljonen in just 39 minutes. His composed performance helped settle the team after the early setback and shifted momentum back in Malaysia’s favour.
