Marin Cilic achieved a historic milestone at the Dallas Open, securing his 600th career ATP Tour-level win. The veteran Croat joins an elite group of players, surpassing Croatian legend Goran Ivanisevic and cementing his place among tennis’ modern greats.

Marin Cilic has added another remarkable achievement to his storied career, reaching a historic 600 career ATP Tour-level wins at the Dallas Open. The veteran Croat claimed the milestone by defeating No. 6 seed Learner Tien in a hard-fought first-round match, demonstrating the composure and resilience that have defined his career.

This victory places Cilic among an exceptionally exclusive group. He is now only the 29th man in the Open Era to reach 600 wins and the first male player born in 1988 or later to do so. In surpassing Croatian legend Goran Ivanisevic, who retired with 599 wins, Cilic has also made national tennis history. Among active players, only he and Novak Djokovic have achieved 600 or more victories, underscoring his longevity at the sport’s highest level.

Cilic now ranks as the 10th male player born in 1980 or later to reach 600 wins, joining an elite list of modern tennis icons. Close contenders like Stan Wawrinka (586 wins) and Gael Monfils (583 wins) remain on the cusp of joining this prestigious milestone.

The match against Tien tested Cilic’s experience and determination. The first set saw him rally from a challenging position, winning three consecutive games to secure a crucial lead. In the second set, he faced additional pressure after Tien saved match point and broke back to level the score at 5-all. Cilic remained composed and eventually prevailed in the tie-break, winning the final three points with a signature forehand winner to close out the historic match.

Cilic now looks ahead to the second round, where he will face the winner of the all-American clash between Ethan Quinn and Trevor Svajda. His 600th victory not only celebrates his remarkable consistency but also solidifies his place among the top players of his generation and modern tennis history.
