Marc Marquez has admitted a right arm injury from a heavy crash at COTA affected his performance, but says he is now fit and ready for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez has confirmed that a right arm injury played a major role in his difficult weekend at the United States Grand Prix, offering clarity after a sudden drop in performance.

The incident occurred during practice at Circuit of the Americas, where the Ducati rider suffered a heavy crash. While initially downplayed, Marquez has since acknowledged that the impact had a significant effect on his ability to compete across the weekend.

The injury was particularly concerning given his history. Marquez has endured multiple issues with his right arm since his serious crash at Circuito de Jerez in 2020, with further complications following another high-speed fall in Indonesia in 2022. The latest setback added strain to an already vulnerable area.

He explained that the physical impact worsened as the weekend progressed, with pain increasing from Friday through to race day. This decline was reflected in his performance, as he struggled to maintain consistency.

Marquez also highlighted an additional challenge during races. The time spent waiting on the starting grid causes his body temperature to drop, making the opening laps particularly difficult. He said he often needs several laps to regain full physical readiness, which limits his ability to push early in the race.

Despite the setback, Marquez arrives at the Spanish Grand Prix in a more positive condition. After time to recover, he said he now feels ready to compete without being held back by fitness concerns.

With his condition improving, the focus shifts back to performance as Marquez looks to deliver a stronger result in front of his home crowd.
