Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker will be out with a sprained right ankle; he will be re-evaluated in a week's time.

PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker will miss at least a week after spraining his right ankle, the team announced before Sunday night’s game against the Miami Heat. Booker is scheduled for a re-evaluation in a week to determine his readiness to return.

The injury occurred during Friday’s 110-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Booker went down in the closing seconds of the third quarter after stepping on the foot of Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu while running back down the court with his head turned toward Grayson Allen, who was attempting to save a loose ball. Prior to leaving the game, Booker had scored 31 points, including 5-of-9 from three, with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

“He seems to be in a pretty good place,” Suns coach Jordan Ott told the Arizona Republic, referring to Booker’s recovery. “Anytime you get anyone down on the court like that, it’s not great and it was so unlucky… We know he’s an incredible healer and a guy that’s going to do everything it takes to play the next one. That’s encouraging news.”

Booker, a four-time All-Star, is averaging 25.4 points, 6.2 assists, and 4 rebounds this season while shooting 31% from three.

Phoenix also lost Jalen Green to a hamstring injury in the same game. Green, playing in his second game since missing 33 contests with a right hamstring strain, re-injured the area against the Hawks. He was walking without a limp after the game, and the Suns hope the setback will not be long-term. Green missed Sunday’s 111-102 loss to the Miami Heat after being listed as questionable.
