Malaysia’s mixed doubles star Chen Tang Jie has confirmed he is back to full fitness after recovering from a hip injury ahead of next week’s Malaysia Masters in Kuala Lumpur.
The World No. 4 pair of Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei had faced concerns over his condition after the shuttler underwent therapy recently. However, Tang Jie said his recovery has progressed well and the pair are now fully focused on preparing for the home tournament.
The duo have intensified training in recent weeks as they aim to deliver a strong performance in front of home fans. Their confidence has also been lifted after being named the 2025 SAM-100PLUS Athletes of the Year earlier this week.
National mixed doubles coach Nova Widianto previously revealed that Tang Jie had been sidelined from on-court training temporarily due to the hip issue, but the extra recovery period has helped him regain condition ahead of the tournament.
Tang Jie and Ee Wei will head into the Malaysia Masters carrying high expectations after enjoying a strong run over the past year, including their rise among the world’s top mixed doubles pairs.
