But some great things do not always last. And it appears that may be the case now with Waters and Paddletek. Though there is no official word yet, it appears Anna Leigh Waters’ time as the face of Paddletek has ended, with the global pickleball brand already removing her name from the company’s website.
Again, there is no official confirmation that the two have parted ways. However, speculation had been rampant even before this that Anna Leigh Waters and Paddletek were headed for splitsville anyway, and the latter removing the former’s name from its website might be indicative of such a split.
If so, that means the GOAT of women’s pickleball is now—or soon will be—a free agent. And the best bet is that she will have quite a lot of suitors. In fact, it would not be surprising if all the major pickleball brands make her an offer she cannot refuse. But, gauging by the rumour mill, it appears JOOLA may have the upper hand in the race to sign Waters.
Speculation has also been circulating that JOOLA is Anna Leigh Waters’ next destination, and it would not be surprising if that proves to be true. After all, JOOLA is arguably the biggest pickleball brand thus far—and landing one of the sport’s biggest, brightest stars would most definitely be a coup for the company.
But, again, no formal announcements have been made—not by Anna Leigh Waters and not by JOOLA. Until then, the pickleball world will be waiting for the GOAT’s decision, which could come at any time early in 2026.
