Catherine Parenteau is among the finest pickleball players on the distaff side, having won over 50 m

Parenteau won her first PPA Tour singles title in over two years just days before Christmas with an 11–4, 12–10 victory over world No. 40 Katerina Stewart at the Florida Dairy Farmers Daytona Beach Open. It was Parenteau’s first championship in Women’s Singles since the 2023 Vulcan Tournament of Champions, and she had to start from the qualifying rounds and beat top seed Kaitlyn Christian along the way.

The PPA Tour standout later added a silver medal in Women’s Doubles with partner Tyra Black. Parenteau and Black had an impressive run at the Florida Dairy Farmers Daytona Beach Open but had the misfortune of facing the powerhouse duo of Anna Leigh Waters and Jorja Johnson.

All in all, though, Parenteau’s performance in Daytona was a smashing success and showed that she is still among the sport’s elite in the women’s division. No wonder, then, why Parenteau got a bit emotional as she posted about her breakthrough gold on X, where she admitted to losing some of the confidence that made her one of the very best to begin with.

“‘”It’s been 2.5 years since I won a singles title, and there were moments I truly questioned myself. Confidence faded, and walking away sometimes felt easier,” Parenteau acknowledged. “But we kept going. My team never stopped believing, and it paid off. This one means everything [gold in singles] and [silver] with Tyra.”

This strong end to 2025 should restore some of that lost confidence, and it could propel Catherine Parenteau back to that A-list status in 2026.
