KUALA LUMPUR: Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae of South Korea once again proved why they are the deadliest pair in men's doubles as they crushed the home favourites to reach the Malaysia Open semi-finals, ending Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun's inspiring run at the Axiata Arena on Friday.

World No. 5 Wei Chong-Kai Wun's chances of ending their losing streak looked promising with their attack-oriented mindset, but world No. 1 Won Ho-Seung Jae still managed to break the Malaysians' rhythm to secure a 21-17, 21-14 win in 41 minutes.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun, who now trail 6-0 in the head-to-head record, conceded that they did not have the answer to counter their tactically superior opponents.

"Initially, they followed our game as we had the speed and everything we wanted. But in the end, they were brave enough to change tactics and we started to hesitate," said Kai Wun.

"They slowed down the game, started us off by playing more to the back court. Then we made our own mistakes."

Wei Chong put on a brave front despite suffering a one-sided defeat against the Koreans and vowed to recover from the setback.

"We have lost so many times, but I don't think we have to lose confidence. We have a chance every time we face them and it's just a matter of how we take that chance to beat them."

Wei Chong-Kai Wun may get that opportunity at the India Open next week if they can set up a potential semi-final clash against Won Ho-Seung Jae in New Delhi.
