Joan Mir topped the combined times on Day 2 of the 2026 Official Sepang MotoGP Test with a fastest lap of 1’56.874. The session saw a rain-curtailed afternoon and no Yamaha riders on track, but a full field of competitors set competitive times in challenging conditions.

The second day of the 2026 Official Sepang MotoGP Test delivered a full set of lap times as riders continued to fine-tune their machines ahead of the new season. Honda’s Joan Mir set the quickest overall lap of the day in the combined standings, while rain late in the afternoon limited additional running.

Mir’s best lap of 1 minute 56.874 seconds remained unbeaten on the combined Day 2 timesheet, placing him at the top of a competitive field. Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio, both riding for Pertamina VR46 Ducati, completed the top three positions.

The session also saw varied track action in the later afternoon before rain limited most riders to only a handful of laps, resulting in a separate Session 2-only classification led by Alex Marquez quickly before the wet conditions set in.

Notably, all Yamaha machines were absent from Day 2 times after the manufacturer suspended running to investigate a technical issue, leaving the team without recorded lap times and complicating comparisons among full-time competitors.

With the Sepang test concluding on Thursday, teams will use the final day to refine set-ups and gather additional data before the last preseason test at Buriram later this month.
