Spanish world number one Carlos Alcaraz continued his exceptional form at the start of 2026 by capturing the singles title at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open with a commanding 6-2, 6-1 victory over France’s Arthur Fils on Saturday in Doha.
Alcaraz controlled the final from the outset, breaking early and never facing a break point in a match that lasted just 50 minutes. His aggressive play and high first-serve success helped maintain the pressure as he extended his winning streak for the year to 12-0.
This triumph represents Alcaraz’s 26th career tour level title and his ninth ATP 500 championship, drawing him level with Andy Murray for the fourth-most titles in the category.
“I came this year hungry for more,” Alcaraz said after the match, reflecting on his fast start to the season and the work he and his team have put in on and off the court.
The victory follows his historic career Grand Slam win at the Australian Open earlier in the year and underscores his continued dominance on the ATP Tour in 2026.
