Aprilia Racing says Marco Bezzecchi responded like a champion by bouncing back from mistakes to deliver a dominant performance at the United States Grand Prix, reinforcing confidence in his title bid.

Aprilia Racing has highlighted the resilience of title leader Marco Bezzecchi after his strong response to recent setbacks in MotoGP competition. The Italian rider currently leads the 2026 championship, extending his winning streak to five consecutive grands prix dating back to late 2025, and scoring 81 points through the opening rounds of the season. His total is more than three times what he had achieved by the same stage last year, underlining significant progress this campaign.

Despite this impressive form, Bezzecchi’s advantage in the standings over team‑mate Jorge Martin is slim, with just a four‑point lead. This is largely because Bezzecchi lost valuable points in Sprint races at both Buriram Grand Prix and the United States Grand Prix after crashing while leading or contesting victory.

Aprilia’s team CEO, Massimo Rivola, said Bezzecchi’s ability to rebound from those errors was genuinely encouraging. Rivola pointed out that although mistakes cost him in Sprint races, Bezzecchi responded with strong performances in the main events, demonstrating the mindset expected of a championship contender. Rivola also suggested that Martin, while competitive, still lacks a final edge of confidence compared to his teammate.

Rivola went on to comment on the recent break in the MotoGP schedule caused by the postponement of the Qatar round. He acknowledged that long gaps between races can sometimes help challengers more than frontrunners, but said Bezzecchi remained focused and determined during the downtime. Rivola also acknowledged the demanding development work by Aprilia’s technical team and the importance of consistency as the season progresses.

Bezzecchi’s latest victory at the United States Grand Prix was notable not only for extending his championship lead but for coming despite aerodynamic damage sustained early in the race. Rivola noted that overcoming these challenges further underscored his adaptability and competitiveness.

As the championship moves back to Europe, Aprilia’s confidence in Bezzecchi’s ability to manage adversity and remain at the front of the title fight has been reinforced, making his performance a standout story of the early 2026 MotoGP season.
