Diogo Moreira continued to show encouraging progress in his rookie MotoGP campaign with a solid ride to 13th place at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday.
Representing LCR Honda Castrol, the Brazilian started from 14th on the grid and made an impressive getaway, quickly putting himself in contention for a top 10 finish.
The 20-lap race proved physically and technically demanding, with tyre management and COTA’s challenging layout testing riders throughout. Despite the conditions, Moreira maintained consistency and composure to stay in the fight for points.
“After not being able to understand my feeling in the Sprint due to the early retirement, today’s race was demanding, but I managed to finish, fight, and score points again,” he said.
In the closing laps, Moreira continued to push while building valuable experience, eventually crossing the line in 13th place. The result marked his third consecutive points finish in just his third MotoGP appearance, underlining his rapid adaptation to the premier class.
Since making his debut earlier this season, the young rider has shown steady improvement and growing confidence on the bike. Reflecting on his recent performances, Moreira highlighted both the challenges and enjoyment of his early MotoGP journey.
“The past two weeks have been both enjoyable and challenging at times, but we are doing a good job and continuously improving. Thanks to everyone,” he added.
With consistent results and a positive trajectory, Moreira is emerging as one of the promising newcomers to watch as the season progresses.
