Diogo Moreira’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans ended in disappointment on Sunday after the Pro Honda LCR rider crashed out while pushing for a top-10 finish.
Starting from 18th on the grid, Moreira had shown encouraging pace earlier in the weekend, including scoring points in the Sprint. On Sunday, he attempted to continue that momentum and fight his way forward in the main race.
However, while battling in the midfield group, the Brazilian rider ran slightly wide at Turn 9 and ended up in the gravel. He was able to walk away unhurt.
“Today was more difficult than yesterday,” Moreira said. “I was there fighting, but it was difficult to keep the pace. I made a mistake at Turn 9. I tried to catch the group, but I went wide and ended up crashing.”
Despite the crash, Moreira’s overall weekend carried positives. He made steady progress across sessions and continued to build experience in his rookie MotoGP campaign, focusing on learning and consistency.
“After yesterday’s race, I was quite happy, so now it’s just a matter of continuing like this and improving race by race,” he added.
Although Sunday ended early, Moreira leaves Le Mans with valuable data and lessons as he looks ahead to the next round.
