Manuel Gonzalez finished fastest at the final Moto2 pre-season test in Portimão, leading a strong performance from the Intact GP team as the intermediate class prepares to continue testing at Jerez before the 2026 season opener.

Manuel Gonzalez set the quickest lap in the latest Moto2 pre-season test at Portimão, showing strong form ahead of the final official test at Jerez. Gonzalez, riding for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP team, stopped the clock at 1:42.427 to finish comfortably ahead of the field.

Second fastest was Izan Guevara aboard the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 machine, ending 0.465 seconds behind Gonzalez. Gonzalez’s Intact GP teammate Senna Agius completed the top three, highlighting the squad’s promising pace across multiple riders.

The test began in difficult conditions, with wet and windy weather limiting running on the first day. Track conditions improved on the second day, allowing most riders to set significant lap time improvements.

This session in the Algarve concludes several days of pre-season activity for the intermediate class. Moto3 riders also participated on the same weekend ahead of the Moto2 test. Teams and riders will soon shift their focus to Jerez in southern Spain for a final test prior to the 2026 season opening round in Thailand.
