The Moto3 class wrapped up its latest pre-season test at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão under persistently wet conditions, with no dry track time recorded throughout the two-day session. The challenging weather made testing difficult for teams and riders as they work to prepare for the 2026 season.
Italian rider Guido Pini delivered the fastest lap on the second and final day, posting a best time of 2 minutes 1.242 seconds. His performance gave him the top spot on the timesheets despite the adverse conditions. Spanish riders David Almansa and Joel Esteban completed the top three on the day.
The Portimão test was hampered by heavy rain, meaning setup work was largely completed on a wet surface rather than in dry conditions. While this provided valuable experience in the wet, it limited the amount of benchmark data teams can gather before the season begins.
With official Moto3 testing now concluded at Portimão, the paddock will move on to the next scheduled pre-season session at Jerez on February 14 and 15. Riders and teams alike will be hoping for improved weather there as they continue to refine their bikes ahead of the start of the championship.
