Former Red Bull F1 boss Christian Horner’s surprise appearance at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez has fuelled speculation about a possible move into MotoGP team ownership.

Former Red Bull Formula 1 team principal Christian Horner drew attention in the MotoGP paddock after making an unexpected appearance at the Spanish Grand Prix, sparking fresh speculation about his future in motorsport.

Horner, who has been away from F1 since leaving Red Bull in 2025, was spotted throughout the weekend in Jerez, including time spent inside the Honda garage and discussions with senior figures in the paddock. His visit immediately triggered rumours that he could be exploring opportunities in MotoGP, particularly in team ownership.

During the weekend, Horner was seen speaking with Honda Racing Corporation leadership and also visiting other team garages, including Ducati. His presence alongside senior Formula 1 figure Stefano Domenicali further fuelled intrigue about broader motorsport involvement.

Horner has not confirmed any formal plans, but he acknowledged his long-standing interest in motorcycle racing and described MotoGP as being in an exciting phase of growth under new commercial direction. His comments and paddock access have strengthened speculation that he may be assessing investment opportunities rather than a direct sporting role.

While no official announcement has been made, his appearance comes at a time when MotoGP is undergoing significant commercial development, with increased interest from major motorsport figures and investors.

For now, Horner’s visit is being viewed as exploratory, but it has already added another layer of speculation over whether he could eventually make a return to motorsport in a new capacity beyond Formula 1.
