Jannik Sinner continues to dominate men’s tennis, extending a historic run that now places him firmly among the sport’s all-time great performers in terms of ranking dominance.
After winning the Madrid Masters 1000 title, Sinner secured his fifth consecutive Masters 1000 victory, underlining his consistency at the highest level. This latest success pushed him beyond the 14,000-point mark for the first time, reaching 14,350 ATP points in the latest rankings update.
This milestone is rarely achieved in modern tennis. The last player to hold more than 14,000 points was Novak Djokovic, who last reached that level in 2016. Sinner’s current total highlights the scale of his dominance across the season.
With the clay-court swing still underway, Sinner also has further opportunities to extend his lead. He can still earn significant ranking points in Rome and Roland Garros, meaning his position at the top could become even more commanding in the coming weeks.
While Sinner continues to set the standard at the top, the Madrid Open also delivered major breakthroughs for a new wave of players across both the ATP and WTA tours.
On the ATP side, Rafael Jodar made a rapid rise into the Top 40 after reaching his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal, climbing from outside the top tier in just weeks. Alexander Blockx also made a strong leap into the Top 40 after reaching his first Masters 1000 semifinal, marking a major step forward in his development.

Two familiar names also returned to the Top 20. Arthur Fils climbed back to World No. 17 after reaching the Madrid semifinals, while Cam Norrie re-entered the Top 20 for the first time in over two years following a strong run to the fourth round.
On the WTA Tour, Marta Kostyuk claimed the biggest title of her career by winning the Madrid WTA 1000 event, moving up to World No. 15 and breaking into the Top 15 for the first time.
American Hailey Baptiste also made headlines with a breakthrough run to the semifinals, highlighted by a dramatic victory over World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, which helped her enter the Top 30 for the first time.
Elsewhere, Jaqueline Cristian and Ann Li both achieved Top 30 debuts after strong performances in Madrid, reflecting a wider shift in momentum across the women’s game.
Overall, the Madrid Open not only reinforced Sinner’s dominance at the top of men’s tennis but also showcased a clear generational shift, with several emerging players making significant ranking breakthroughs on both tours.
