Pro Honda LCR rider Diogo Moreira secured a commendable 10th-place finish in his first home Sprint race, marking another step forward in his development.
Starting from 14th on the grid in Goiânia, the Brazilian made an immediate impact with a strong launch and quickly settled into the midfield group. Despite limited Sprint experience, Moreira demonstrated confidence and composure as he battled closely with more experienced riders and gained positions throughout the race.
“It was a good day today. I learned a lot, and it was really useful to stay with the group,” Moreira said after the race.
Competing in only his second Sprint, the young rider highlighted both his progress and the areas that still require improvement. He pointed to race understanding, braking references, and tyre management as key aspects he continues to work on.
“We need to keep finishing races and spend more time on the bike. I still have to improve my understanding of the lines, braking points, and especially tyre management,” he explained.
Still adapting to the demands of the category, Moreira remained competitive in a high-intensity Sprint format where riders push from the opening lap. His ability to stay within the pack and fight for points underlined his growing confidence.
“In the Sprint, everyone pushes from the first lap, so I need to better understand how to manage everything. We’re ready and excited for tomorrow,” he added.
The 10th-place finish provides a solid foundation as Moreira looks ahead to the main race, where he aims to build on his momentum and continue his upward trajectory.
