KUALA LUMPUR: Mixed doubles Datu Anif Isaac Datu Asrah-Clarissa San clinched their second title in two weeks by winning the Bangladesh International Series on Friday.
The world No. 194 defeated world No. 246 compatriots Wee Yee Tern-Tan Zhing Hui 21-13, 21-15 in the final at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Dhaka.
The victory follows their success at the Bangladesh International Challenge last week, underlining their consistency on the lower-tier international tour.
Anif-Clarissa dictated the tempo with sharp net play and disciplined defence to take the opening game comfortably.
They maintained pressure in the second game, closing out the contest without facing a serious threat of a comeback.
The back-to-back titles provide a timely boost for the Malaysian pair as they look to build momentum and improve their world ranking.
However, Malaysia fell short in three other finals in Dhaka.
In the women's singles, India's world No. 269 Tanvi Reddy Andluri upset world No. 150 Lim Zhi Shin 21-19, 21-9.
The women's doubles saw Gan Min Yee-Zhing Hui lose 21-13, 17-21, 21-17 to Thailand's Thitiwarada Buakaew-Sarisa Janpeng.
In the men's singles, top seed Dmitriy Panarian of Kazakhstan beat Haris Sufian Rushdan 21-16, 14-21, 21-10.
