Speculation over the 2027 MotoGP grid has been intense, but Turkish star Toprak Razgatlioglu appears ready to continue with Pramac for a second consecutive year rather than moving directly to the factory Yamaha squad. The decision signals a strategic approach focused on steady development and maximizing track experience.
Razgatlioglu’s agent, Kenan Sofuoglu, confirmed to GPOne that staying with Pramac is a deliberate choice, not a sign of hesitation. “Our objective is to take Toprak to the highest level. I am 99 percent sure he will remain with the current team next year because we are happy here and work well together,” Sofuoglu said. The focus is on continuity, familiar equipment, and building confidence before a factory move.
Although Yamaha announced Razgatlioglu’s association last June, his contract allows flexibility with a two-year term and an optional third season. Sofuoglu highlighted Yamaha’s positive attitude toward the Turkish rider, noting that the manufacturer views him as a key long-term asset and is preparing a new package for future seasons. The plan frames his progression as a patient, structured path toward championship contention rather than an immediate leap into the factory seat.

Yamaha faces a major decision on its 2027 factory lineup. With Fabio Quartararo confirmed to leave for Honda and Jorge Martin already secured, only one seat remains. Top targets, including Francesco Bagnaia, reportedly declined Yamaha’s offer, prompting the team to consider other riders such as Honda’s Luca Marini or a rising Moto2 talent, following the model of Quartararo’s 2019 promotion.
Razgatlioglu’s focus remains on his Pramac development. His performance at the Thailand Grand Prix, finishing 17th and ahead of teammate Jack Miller, reinforced his potential and provided valuable experience. Sofuoglu added, “Our contract is open and there could be interest from Yamaha’s factory team, but the original plan remains with the current team.”
By committing to a second year at Pramac, Toprak Razgatlioglu demonstrates a patient, development-oriented strategy designed to ensure he is fully prepared when he eventually joins a factory team. The approach aims to position him as a championship-ready contender capable of meeting the high expectations of Yamaha and MotoGP fans alike.
