World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu has suggested that fellow racer Nicolo Bulega, who has previous MotoGP experience, may have adapted more easily to the recent Sepang MotoGP test than he did. Razgatlioglu made the comments after reflecting on his own performance during the Malaysian test with Pramac Yamaha.
Razgatlioglu said the Sepang circuit’s long, flowing corners would have suited Bulega’s smoother riding style. The Turkish rider explained that Bulega is particularly strong in high‑speed, long‑radius turns, which he believes are an advantage in MotoGP. Razgatlioglu contrasted this with his own style developed in World Superbikes, where the focus tends to be on hard braking and rapid acceleration.

“Here at Sepang, if he came, he would be faster because this track fits his riding style,” Razgatlioglu said. He noted that Bulega’s ability to carry speed through long corners is a natural strength and could translate well in MotoGP’s premier machinery.
Razgatlioglu’s own riding approach was shaped by his time in WorldSBK, where he learned to brake deeply into corners and power out aggressively. He acknowledged this style worked well in Superbike racing but said MotoGP demands a different technique, particularly in the way riders handle prototype bikes through mid‑corner speed.
Bulega spent three seasons in Moto2 before moving into World Supersport and then World Superbike, where he finished as runner‑up to Razgatlioglu in recent seasons. He has also gained brief MotoGP experience, filling in for an injured Marc Marquez in 2025 and undertaking testing roles with Ducati.
Razgatlioglu’s comments highlight the different riding philosophies between former WorldSBK rivals as they transition to MotoGP machinery. While Razgatlioglu excels under braking and aggressive corner entry, Bulega’s smoother style and strength in long corners may offer him a competitive edge at circuits like Sepang, where maintaining speed through flowing sections is crucial.
