Kevin Garnett is set to reunite with the Minnesota Timberwolves in a wide-ranging role, marking his first official involvement with the franchise since retiring in 2016.
Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett is set to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a wide-ranging role, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The franchise icon will take on an “all-encompassing” position that spans business initiatives, community engagement, and content development as he reunites with the team he starred for during his Hall of Fame career.
Garnett has been absent from the Timberwolves organization since retiring in 2016, following a strained relationship with former owner Glen Taylor. Since then, he has developed a strong rapport with current ownership group Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez, paving the way for his return to the franchise.
As part of the move, Garnett is also expected to receive a long-awaited jersey retirement ceremony for his iconic No. 21 in the near future.
