Johann Zarco finished 12th in Saturday’s MotoGP Sprint at Buriram. The Frenchman highlighted early struggles and battles with other riders but remains optimistic, using the race data to prepare for Sunday’s main event.

Castrol Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco completed Saturday’s MotoGP Sprint at Buriram in 12th place. Starting from 12th on the grid, the Frenchman made a strong start and gained positions early but faced challenges as the race progressed.

“The start was good, and we did a solid job, but I went wide and lost positions. From that point, I struggled in a few areas,” Zarco explained after the race. His early mistake made the following laps more difficult and prevented him from reaching the points.

Despite the setback, Zarco maintained consistency and a solid pace throughout the race. “I lost time while fighting other riders and trying to overtake, but I managed the situation as best I could,” he added.

The Sprint provided important data for Zarco and his team to refine their strategy for Sunday’s main race. Tyre degradation and track temperatures will be key factors, and the insights gained today will help optimize performance.

“We are working hard to improve for tomorrow. Even though we didn’t score points today, the bigger picture looks better. We are getting closer, and we just need to keep working,” Zarco said.

The positive takeaway is that Zarco recognizes the potential still to be unlocked. Compared to previous races, the team is making steady progress, giving hope for a stronger performance in the main event.
