The tennis collectibles market has seen a surge in interest following the release of new rookie cards featuring some of the sport’s most promising young players, led by João Fonseca.
Fonseca has officially entered the licensed trading card scene through the launch of Topps’s 2026 Graphite Tennis set, marking his first rookie card release. The collection features him across multiple designs, including base rookie cards and several insert variations, with rare 1-of-1 Red Crystalline Refractor parallels standing out as the most sought-after editions. The set also includes his first official autograph cards under the “Match Point Marks” series.
The release has positioned Fonseca as one of the key new names in modern tennis card collecting, with additional short-print “case hit” designs further boosting interest among collectors.
The set also introduces other emerging players into the trading card space, including McCartney Kessler, Talia Gibson, Dino Prizmic, Nishesh Basavareddy, and Zeynep Sonmez, reflecting a broader push toward showcasing the next generation of tennis talent.
Attention is now turning to whether other rising prospects such as Rafael Jodar and Lilli Tagger will feature in future Topps releases later in the year.
Meanwhile, NetPro has also returned to the tennis collectibles market with a new product line centred around Iva Jovic. The collection includes her first on-card autographs and jersey cards, adding another premium option for collectors.
Demand for the release was immediate, with all autograph and jersey cards selling out within minutes of launch. Prices for limited editions reportedly ranged from moderate entry-level figures up to high-end premium pieces, with ultra-rare 1-of-1 cards attracting strong interest.
The rapid sell-out highlights the growing popularity of tennis collectibles, particularly around young breakout players. With both Topps and NetPro expanding their tennis offerings, the market continues to show strong momentum driven by emerging stars and limited-edition releases.
