KUALA LUMPUR: The local challenge in the men's singles at the Malaysia Open came to an end after Leong Jun Hao was knocked out in the last 16 on Thursday.
World No. 28 Jun Hao found world No. 4 Jonatan Christie too strong, going down 21-18, 21-11 at the Axiata Arena.
The defeat meant Malaysia failed once again to reach at least the men's singles quarter-finals of the tournament for a fifth straight edition, since Lee Chong Wei's title triumph in 2018.
