American star Jessica Pegula secured a commanding victory in the women’s final of the 2026 Dubai Tennis Championships, defeating Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-4 to claim the title on Saturday night.
Pegula produced a high-quality performance throughout the match, taking control early and maintaining pressure in both sets. The result marked her 10th career singles title and her fourth at the WTA 1000 level, ending a run of deep tournament finishes that had not yet delivered a title.
The American raced into a 3-0 lead in the first set and kept momentum through to the end, responding well to Svitolina’s attempts to shift the match in the second.
For Svitolina, who returned to a WTA 1000 final for the first time in more than seven years, the match was a strong showing but ultimately fell short.
Pegula’s success in Dubai cements her status among the top players on the women’s tour and adds another milestone to an already consistent season.
