Johann Zarco wrapped up pre-season testing in Buriram 14th overall after 157 laps, with the Castrol Honda LCR rider expressing confidence in the bike’s potential ahead of next week’s season-opening Grand Prix in Thailand.

Castrol Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco heads into the opening round of the 2026 season with renewed optimism after completing the final day of testing at the Buriram Circuit.

The Frenchman finished 14th on the combined standings, posting a best lap time of 1’29.467. Across the two-day test, Zarco and his crew worked extensively to refine the bike’s balance and improve his overall feeling on the machine.

From the outset, the potential of the package was evident, although Zarco admitted he initially faced challenges in finding smoothness and comfort on the bike.

“We have a much clearer path now. From the start of the test, the bike showed great potential, although I initially struggled to ride smoothly and feel comfortable,” he said.

Progress became more tangible as the sessions unfolded. In the afternoon, Zarco completed a full race simulation, providing encouraging feedback as the team evaluated consistency and long-run performance.

“Today we found some solutions that helped me, and it feels great to finish like this,” he shared.

In total, Zarco completed 157 laps, gathering crucial data and implementing effective adjustments that strengthened confidence within the garage. With testing now concluded, both rider and crew turn their focus to the first Grand Prix of the 2026 season, which will take place next week in Thailand.

“I can’t wait to start the Grand Prix. We still have a few days to prepare and be ready, because with this bike we can achieve strong results this year. We’ll see!” Zarco said.
