The Motul Dutch Grand Prix at Assen has been officially voted as the Best Grand Prix of the 2025 MotoGP season, following a vote that involved teams and paddock stakeholders evaluating every part of each race weekend.
Assen has a long and storied history in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, hosting more MotoGP races than any other venue since the world championship began in 1949. The 2025 event also marked 100 years of motorcycle racing in the region, celebrating the sport’s deep roots in the Netherlands.
The 2025 Dutch GP drew a record crowd of more than 200,000 spectators, highlighting its status as one of the most popular stops on the MotoGP calendar. Fans enjoyed not only the on-track action but also a packed lineup of entertainment across the race weekend.
Arjan Bos, Chairman of the Board at TT Circuit Assen, described the award as significant recognition for everyone involved in organising the event. He noted the circuit’s focus on three core principles: prioritising the sport with high standards for teams and riders, delivering excellent fan experiences, and offering unique entertainment elements like music performances, flypasts, fireworks, and standout ceremonies.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, also praised Assen’s contribution to the sport. He highlighted the circuit’s modern facilities, high operational standards, and ongoing growth in both attendance and activities that enhance the fan experience.
The trophy for the Best Grand Prix award will be presented at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix on June 28, just before the start of another exciting race at Assen’s legendary venue
