Castrol Honda LCR rider Diogo Moreira completed his first official MotoGP pre-season test at Sepang last week, gaining valuable experience as he continued his transition to the premier class.
The Brazilian rider finished 19th on the final day with a best lap of 1’58.476 and described the three-day test as both demanding and rewarding.
“I’m happy but exhausted. These days have been intense,” Moreira said.
The Sepang Test marked an important milestone in Moreira’s early MotoGP journey, providing him with extended track time to better understand the bike and adapt to the physical and technical demands of the category. Over the three days, he completed a total of 119 laps, including 39 on Tuesday, 34 on Wednesday, and 46 on Thursday, as the team focused on building consistency and gathering data.
“I’ve understood many things. We’ve done many laps, and the progress has been positive. My feeling on the bike improved day by day... I felt good riding it,” he added.
Moreira noted that his confidence increased steadily throughout the test, particularly as he became more familiar with the bike’s behaviour and setup. He believes the work completed during the Shakedown and Sepang Test has provided a strong foundation for further development.
“I believe we’ve found our base setup, and this is great. I still need to do more hours on the bike and improve, but everything will come. We are happy and motivated,” he said.
With encouraging signs of progress and important lessons learned, Moreira and the Honda LCR team now turn their attention to the upcoming Buriram Test in Thailand, where he will continue refining his performance ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season.
