India has unveiled a star-studded lineup for the 2026 Badminton Asia Team Championships, with the women’s team defending their title and the men aiming to improve on consecutive bronze finishes.

India has announced a powerful lineup for the Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) 2026, set for February 3–8 in Qingdao, China. The women’s team enters as defending champions, while the men look to improve on back-to-back bronze finishes, signalling India’s clear ambition to challenge for both titles.

P V Sindhu, former world champion and two-time Olympic medallist, headlines the women’s squad. She will be supported by rising singles talents Tanvi Sharma, Unnati Hooda, Rakshita Sree Santhosh Ramraj, and Malvika Bansod. In doubles, the Syed Modi International champions Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand lead a group that also includes Priya Konjengbam, Shruti Mishra, and Tanisha Crasto.

The men’s team features the core of India’s historic 2022 Thomas Cup-winning squad. Lakshya Sen anchors the singles list, backed by Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy, Ayush Shetty, and Tharun Mannepalli. In doubles, top global pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty return, joined by Sai Pratheek K, Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy, and Hariharan Amsakarunan, providing strong depth and tactical flexibility.

BAI General Secretary Sanjay Mishra expressed confidence in both squads, citing their balance of form and experience. With a new Olympic cycle underway, BATC 2026 offers India an early opportunity to test combinations and make a strong statement on the Asian stage.
